The Roaring Twenties and Swinging Sixties – Reloaded on Lake Zurich
The Roaring Twenties - a period of prosperity, pleasure-seeking, and cultural change, best portrayed in the Great Gatsby. Flappers cut their hairs to bops. Coco Chanel invents the little black dress and puts women in pants, a style quickly adopted by Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, and later Katharine Hepburn. Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington help making Jazz the dominant sound of the decade. The European wave of Art Deco reaches the United States. Hemingway moves from Europe to Key West and develops an obsession for big-game fishing on his wooden yacht "Pilar". Hacker Boats and Chris Craft invent the "Runabout" by putting old aircraft engines in wooden motor boats with a V-shaped bottom.
The Swinging Sixties - a period of fun, style, and hedonism. During that time James Bond chases Dr. No by boat – as well as Ursula Andress. Richard Burton falls for Cleopatra. Roger Vadim seduces Catherine Deneuve. Alain Delon breaks the heart of Romy Schneider. Onassis courts the Callas on board of "Christina O". JFK gets to know MM and invites guests of state on his steel motor yacht "Honey Fizz". The Italian shipbuilder Riva launches the famous "Aquarama". One of the first customers is Gunter Sachs, who – on such a ship named Dracula – will teach Princess Soraya waterskiing and Brigitte Bardot other things. St. Tropez changes into a jet set location and a major part of this life is happening on ships, which at that time were exclusively constructed from wood or steel.
We want to bring back the style of these golden ages by offering a unique selection of classical wood and steel yachts of different size and style for private charter on Lake Zurich. Among those you will find "Le Studio 45", a historic salon cruiser from 1929, converted into an exclusive Art-Deco-style lounge & bar on the lake, as well as "Donna Anna", an original Venetian motoscafo - as preferably being used by celebrities, such as Brad Pitt or George Clooney, when marrying in Venice.
